Before you ever leave your bike somewhere out in public you should make sure that you lock your bike. I found this out the hard way by leaving my bike at school. While my bike was technically locked, the seat was not, and was removed after I got back. It was a quick release seat, so now I'm looking for a non-quick release seat.
